Our client is a rapidly growing Private Equity backed service organization. The company is hiring a Sr. Director of Total Rewards to revamp their Total Rewards program. This will include payroll processing in 40+ US states, benefits, compliance, and owning the HRIS. The ideal candidate has experience with multi-state payroll, total rewards, and driving process changes for organizations to scale.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic vision for total rewards and payroll, aligning with company goals and enhancing employee satisfaction.
Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure strategies align with business objectives and financial realities.
Serve as a thought leader on market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in compensation, benefits, and payroll.
Design and manage competitive compensation programs, including base pay, incentives, and equity plans.
Conduct regular market analyses to ensure competitive positioning and oversee job evaluation processes.
Lead the design, implementation, and administration of health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
Ensure benefits programs are cost-effective, competitive, and aligned with employee needs.
Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Implement and maintain payroll systems and processes that meet regulatory requirements and best practices.
Ensure all practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations and oversee the preparation of required regulatory reports and filings.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and payroll management, with 5 years of recent experience in California.
Proven track record of strategic leadership and successful implementation of total rewards programs, with strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, COBRA).
Excellent financial acumen, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with superior communication and interpersonal skills. Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM or HRCI), compensation (e.g., CCP), and/or benefits (e.g., CEBS) is highly desirable.
