Hino Trucks is looking for a District Sales Manager (DSM) for our Great Lakes territory. Typically, this position operates from the employee's home located in the center of the territory; MI, IN, OH, KY, or WV . A Hino DSM must be goal-oriented and have the ability to establish rapport with dealers and major fleets within the territory. They will have direct responsibility for recruiting, training, and assisting Hino dealers to be effective in the sale of Hino vehicles to fleets or small users.


Additional DSM responsibilities include:

  • Achieve planned periodic sales goals to dealers and deliveries to users.
  • Recruit and maintain acceptable dealers to achieve major market representation and secondary markets.
  • Establish acceptable sales goals for dealers according to size of their market area.
  • Assure that dealers maintain an acceptable level of Hino Standards, (Truck inventories, Trained Sales People, Hino programs, i.e. Co-op, Demo, etc.)
  • Train dealers and dealer sales personnel on Hino products, product presentations, writing Hino specifications into fleet bids and proper closing of deals.
  • Train and assist when necessary in the prompt resolution of customer complaints related to Hino products.
  • Encourage dealers to participate and display Hino products at local trade shows, etc. and assist by participation when deemed necessary.
  • Maintain current awareness of competition, competitive situations, market activities, conditions and report to Regional Vice President.
  • Encourage dealers to properly participate in Hino sales and marketing programs such as Co-op Advertising, Demonstrations, Regional and National programs.
  • Maintain records of all pertinent dealer business including orders, inventory and deliveries.
  • Encourage prompt delivery reporting, accurate records, etc. and assure that dealers are complying with Hino sales policies.
  • Encourage dealers to anticipate demand of Hino products and place orders in advance.
  • Responsible for market penetration of Hino trucks in all classes within the district territory and by dealer.
