elearning Instructional Designer -- Remote | WFH

Position Overview

We're on the lookout for a proactive, collaborative, and imaginative professional to join our team. In this role, you'll be an integral part of a diverse and fully remote team, collaborating with fellow IDs, our valued clients in the Department of Defense (DoD), Foreign Language Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), military cultural specialists, and other development team members. Together, we aim to craft an advanced foreign language course in an engaging eLearning environment, featuring level 2-3 interactivity, as per Army Distributed Learning standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials.

Apply principles of adult learning theory and learner-centric strategies, incorporating foreign language methodology, to courseware designs.

Collaborate closely with SMEs and team members to develop storyboards with captivating and purposeful advanced foreign language learning activities.

Design complex level branching and provide intrinsic feedback loops.

Implement eLearning best practices for learner engagement and knowledge transfer, such as simulations, practical exercises, and scenario-based knowledge checks.

Engage in instructional design activities within a multicultural remote team, effectively communicating within the framework of Army training culture.

Demonstrate excellent planning and time management skills to meet project deliverables on schedule.

Utilize technology-based workflow resources for efficient team communication and collaboration.

Required Experience And Qualifications

Previous experience as an eLearning designer/developer of IMI Level 2-3 content.

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field, preferably with specialization in Instructional Systems Design or Instructional Design Technology.

Knowledge of foreign language learning methodology or experience in designing advanced language learning curriculum is desirable.

Demonstrated cross-cultural aptitude through experience, certifications, or relevant coursework.

Proficiency in the ADDIE system of design and evaluation.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in a diverse environment.

Ability to adapt to dynamic and flexible work environments.

Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to interact professionally with senior-level personnel in both company and government/military settings.

Submission of level 3 storyboards or a design portfolio is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government security clearance.

Desired Experience

Experience designing Army or Army University distributed learning content with interactive instructional multimedia.

Demonstrated self-starting attitude with strong problem-solving skills.

Experience in a Government contracting environment.

Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, French, Korean, Russian, or Spanish.

Familiarity with Adobe Captivate and learning management systems for eLearning courseware delivery.

As an Instructional Designer, you will work within established project processes and deadlines, regardless of your home base time zone, collaborating closely with team members to create exceptional project deliverables.
