We are looking for a talented Email & SMS Marketing Manager to improve customer conversions and optimize the post-purchase experience through email and SMS channels. This role is key to driving customer engagement and increasing lifetime value through strategic and tactical lifecycle campaigns.


This is a high-impact role, focused on optimizing our customer lifecycle to enhance user experience and increase conversions, directly driving growth and customer retention.

This fully remote role reports to the Head of Marketing and involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as eCommerce, marketing, design, customer support, and operations. You will lead the email & SMS marketing function, own the day-to-day execution of campaigns and initiatives, and play a key role in shaping and executing our lifecycle marketing strategy.


How you’ll contribute:

Develop and Implement Conversion Strategies: Create and execute data-driven strategies to convert website visitors into loyal customers, significantly boosting our online sales.


  • Improve Conversions and Engagement: Develop and execute lifecycle campaigns via email, SMS, and other channels to convert new customers and increase engagement.
  • Optimize Onboarding and Post-Purchase Experience: Design and implement onboarding flows and post-purchase educational tools to enhance customer satisfaction and lifetime value.
  • Analyze Customer Data: Use customer data to develop insights and inform strategies for improving engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with marketing, design, eCommerce, customer support, and operations teams to implement lifecycle strategies and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Write Compelling Copy: Craft engaging and persuasive copy for email, SMS, and other lifecycle touchpoints to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Track and Optimize Key Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators such as opt-in rate, revenue per send, and returning customer rate to continuously improve lifecycle marketing efforts.


What you’ll need to succeed:


  • Email & SMS Marketing Expertise: 3+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing or customer retention within a direct-to-consumer (D2C) eCommerce environment, with a proven track record of driving customer engagement and lifetime value.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using data analytics tools to track and interpret customer data, with the ability to derive actionable insights.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with email marketing platforms, Shopify, and customer segmentation.
  • Copywriting Skills: Strong copywriting skills for creating engaging content across multiple channels.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Commitment to Health and Wellness: Strong interest in the health and wellness space, with a drive to contribute to a fast-growing brand dedicated to improving lives through fitness.


Bonus points for:


  • Direct Mail Experience: Experience in designing and managing direct mail campaigns to engage customers and drive retention.
  • Experience with Building Customer Communities: Proven success in creating and nurturing customer communities, such as Facebook groups, to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Experience in the Health and Wellness Space: Particularly with high average order value (AOV) products, bringing relevant insights and expertise to improve customer retention and engagement.
