Plant Engineering Manager
A well-respected manufacturer with multiple locations is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Fort Wayne area plant. This role will be the most senior Plant-level engineer and will manage engineers, technicians, and projects as needed. Experience with both troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment, as well as setting up new production lines or launching new products is necessary. Experience with an industry similar to automotive, medical devices or other documentation-heavy, tight tolerance, zero-defect industry is essential for success in this role. If that sounds like you, this company could be the perfect blend of serious engineering chops and low-pressure culture of competence you’ve been looking for - you will not find screaming managers, last minute emergencies, or mandatory overtime here (nor will we tolerate it from you) - instead you’ll be surrounded by a successful team that shows up to work every day to make great products, the right way… with no exceptions.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree (MS or MBA) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within an engineering department, preferably in the automotive industry.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, understanding of GD&T, FMEA, and other engineering practices.
Project Management: Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with proven ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) certification is desirable.
Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment and foster a culture of respect and positive work relationships.
Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous improvement, waste reduction, and effective use of resources.
