Wastequip is looking for an Engineering Specialist to create and maintain product configurations across multiple product lines and databases. The Engineer will contribute to lean principles by effectively assigning raw materials, assessing proposed changes impacts, and assisting the engineering team in creating engineering documentation.
Responsibilities
Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve Engineering data quality.
Coordinate, check, and complete BOM/Standards modifications as necessary.
Assist team leadership in the management and completion of strategic Engineering projects.
Actively follow up on new processes and procedures, proposing, and making improvements where possible.
Implement knowledge of systems and databases to improve the efficiency of Engineering and business processes.
Identify and support initiatives to advance the Engineering organization’s technical competency.
Develop and distribute project communications to key stakeholders.
Develop configuration management plans and update as required.
Evaluate engineering processes and improve utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Qualifications
Able to interpret drawings, understand engineering documentation, and work effectively with members of the engineering, planning, operations, and purchasing teams.
Microsoft Office product experience
Proven ability to lead teams and bring results through others.
Must possess technical, problem-solving, and analytic skills with the ability to think strategically.
Must be teamwork oriented.
Must possess an attitude of safety in all aspects of the job.
Experience working in a metal fabrication environment.
Experience creating or maintaining BOMs in an ERP system (Dynamics 365 preferred).
1 - 3 Years of Engineering/Manufacturing experience.
