Intuit is seeking an Executive Creative Director of Design who will lead and influence all aspects of Intuit’s brand visual expression. The person who fits this role is an articulate champion for design, is passionate about quality and craft, and is an experienced leader of large teams that can elevate ambitious work while delivering outstanding business results.

Reporting to the VP of Creative, the ECD of Design will work hand-in-hand with peer leaders of Campaign, Studio Production and Storytelling to transform the Intuit brand into a household name in the era of AI. Intuit Brand, UX and Experiential design practitioners will report to this role.

What You’ll Bring

  • Leadership Skills
    • Develop and articulate a compelling design vision and operational strategy aligned with company goals.
    • Maintain and model a high bar for quality and taste.
    • Lead creative and design direction for brand initiatives, ensuring consistency and excellence.
    • Inspire, mentor, and lead a diverse team of design practitioners, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration.
    • Promote growth and career development of individual team members.
    • Attract, retain, and grow diverse talent within the design team.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to align creative work with business objectives and achieve pull-through across the platform of brands.
    • Present design concepts and strategies to senior leadership, influencing decisions and direction.
    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project buy-in and execution.
    • Track industry trends and best practices, bringing innovative ideas back into Intuit.
    • Partner closely with Operations to develop efficiencies, workflows, and processes to empower creatives to do their best work at speed and scale.
    • Direct multiple projects, stakeholders, and budgets within deadlines.
    • Ensure clarity and consistent workflow through regular reviews and meetings.
    • Manage budgets efficiently, maximizing ROI.
  • Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or related field with 10-15 years of design leadership in an external agency and/or internal brand team
    • Experience crafting and operationalizing branding and design systems for consumer facing brands across touchpoints
    • Leadership of creative production and execution of large in-person events and marketing campaign design alike
    • Excellent at managing and developing leaders of people
    • Experience recruiting, retaining and growing diverse talent
    • Excellent creative management skills with the ability to effortlessly meet deadlines on multiple projects with varying timelines
    • Experience working in a fast paced, high volume, deadline-oriented environment
    • Experience collaborating with cross-discipline senior stakeholders
    • Experience pitching ideas that articulate a strategic design approach
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • A positive, kind team player with an optimistic, enthusiastic attitude who’s able to collaborate with and influence peers to overcome obstacles
How you will lead

  • Advance the Intuit Brand:
    • Develop Intuit’s design expression to position the brand as the leading tech platform that finds people more money.
    • Evolve and scale Intuit’s brand identity into a spirited, dynamic and ownable visual system that helps bring Intuit’s personality to life across channels, harmonized with its cornerstone brands (Mailchimp, Quickbooks, TurboTax, Credit Karma)
    • Craft world-class brand expression for: Go-to-market campaigns; social and content; corporate responsibility efforts with a focus on financial literacy for future generations; business transformation & storytelling; workplace design across our global locations; employer brand.
    • Streamline usage of agencies by scaling centralized design support
    • Help oversee E2E sponsorship activations, specifically the new Intuit Dome
  • Grow the Intuit Design Team and Culture:
    • Build an inspired, high-performing Design team with world-class talent across graphic design, UX, brand experience, transformation and communications.
    • Evolve org structure to drive accountability, velocity and excellence through best-in-class creative practices and cross-functional collaboration
    • Create more connective tissue between strategy and execution across the Intuit brand and the cornerstone brands
    • Position the Design team as strategic conceptual partners to their Campaign creative counterparts and other functional groups
  • Fuel Intuit Brand Go-To-Market Activities with Design:
    • Contribute to breakthrough marketing expressions to achieve bold outcomes across brand reputation (trust), awareness, familiarity and understanding
    • Partner closely with Campaigns leads to give the Intuit brand more meaning and depth through award-winning creative work that demonstrates the power of our products and captures the spirit of how we power prosperity for customers and communities
    • Use Creativity to drive Intuit’s own Transformation:
      • Accelerate Intuit's Transformation flagship experiences to drive a high-performing culture and set a clear vision through transformative hybrid experiences. Audiences include: Employees (State of the Company, Intuit Leadership Conference, Global Engineering Days), Top Tech Talent (AfroTech, Grace Hopper), Customers/Partners (Intuit Connect) and Investors (Investor Day, Innovation Days).
