Job Title: Financial Project Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA – local candidates only

Job Type: 6-month Contract

Compensation: $45-55/hour

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager with a robust financial background, ideally within academic environments. The ideal candidate will have an MBA in Finance or a related field and/or equivalent experience/training. Grant management experience or academic experience is crucial for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning, resource planning (dollars), and control of the organizational budget.
• Analyze and prepare recommendations for financial plans, including annual resource allocations, future requirements, and operating forecasts.
• Provide direct supervision to professionals or skilled technical employees.
• Function as an advisor to the unit and administration, analyzing and resolving problems, and interpreting policies related to fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, and resource management in defined areas.
• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
• Supervise staff to ensure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements:

• MBA in Finance or related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Strong financial background, ideally in academic environments.
• Significant experience in grant management or academic finance.
• Proven track record in financial planning, resource planning, and budget control.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise and guide professionals or skilled technical employees.
• Solid understanding of fiscal management, HR, contracts, grants, and resource management policies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
