Scion Nonprofit Staffing, an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Fund Development Manager on behalf of our client, a compassionate nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comfort and support to sick children and their families. This full-time hybrid role is based in beautiful Palo Alto, CA, and is available immediately.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fund Development Manager supports fundraising activities, manages donor relations, and oversees projects that directly impact the diverse branches of the organization. Working closely with the Sr. Director of Community Relations, the Fund Development Manager plays a key role in raising awareness and funds for the charity while fostering a culture that aligns with the mission of improving the lives of children and their families.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in creating and implementing a comprehensive Development Plan containing plans such as annual appeals, major donors, grants, and corporate and individual appeals.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Community Relations to plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns and activities.
  • Leverage the donor database to categorize donors, build relationships, monitor progress, and evaluate results for improved future efforts.
  • Oversee event logistics, including selecting venues, arranging catering, and managing invitations.
  • Oversee event budgets and schedules to ensure successful execution.
  • Support grant research and tracking efforts.
  • Maintain consistency for ongoing campaigns, including acquiring sponsors, providing quarterly updates, and renewing sponsorships.
  • Develop presentations and reports highlighting Charity narratives for fundraising activities.
  • Manage and utilize the donor database for internal mail appeals
  • Participate in networking events to broaden the professional network, improve relationship management skills, and enhance the Charity's outreach and capabilities.
  • Work alongside Community Relations team members, other departments, and volunteers to advocate for the Charity and enhance visibility and awareness of the organization’s mission.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in fundraising, event coordination, or project management.
  • Proficient in donor database software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and campaigns.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude with a sense of humor preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in nonprofit management, communications, business administration, or a related field.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

In addition to a salary of $65,000 to $80,000 (DOE) this opportunity offers a comprehensive benefits package including includes medical, dental, optical, life insurance, and a 403(b) retirement program.
