About the position:

  • Tutoring can take place at any time of day, so the work hours are flexible

(though most of the tutoring will be in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends).

  • Pay will start at $100/hr
  • Looking for folks who can commit to at least 1 year of assignments

What the successful hire can expect:

 An initial training period in which the tutor will learn more about the GMAT and GRE and how

to teach them (this will take time, so patience is necessary)

 A probationary period with limited tutoring assignments (tutors need to demonstrate

excellence before taking on a full load of tutoring)

 Excellent compensation

 Regular "tutor development" meetings

 Support throughout the journey of becoming a great GMAT/GRE tutor

 Non-tutoring opportunities such as curriculum development, tutor training, etc.

Requirements

A passion for teaching (and learning too!)

 Previous teaching/tutoring experience with the GMAT or GRE

 750+ on the "Classic" GMAT or 333+ on the GRE (proof of one's score is required)

 Availability and desire to tutor 10 to 20 hours per week

 Great teaching instincts and ability to explain concepts in a variety of ways

 Good interpersonal skills and ability to connect with students

 Compassionate/understanding attitude and great perceptive ability

 Willingness to learn new methods and approaches to tutoring

 Collaborative spirit and willingness to also share new ideas that can make the rest of the

tutors better
