Director of Business DevelopmentWe are seeking a highly motivated, multi-facility Director of Business Development to join our team! RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides census development in assigned markets through direct sales contacts with physicians, physician groups and physician organizations, key hospital staff, managed care organizations, appropriate external and internal case managers, and any other potential referral sources. Accountable for census performance in assigned area. May assist with the management of area sales staff as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:Prefer a BA or BS (in a health-related field preferred)Preferred two (2) years of healthcare sales experienceIf RN/LPN must have a current license to practice profession in stateMust have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance; reliable source of transportationAbility to understand, remember and carry out verbal and/or written instructions in EnglishAbility to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with sourcesAbility to complete assignments while having constant interruptionsMust be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodationMust be able to travel through the assigned area, supporting business development functions at the community levelESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Maximizes the number of referrals from key physicians, physician organizations, hospital accounts, managed care organizations and other local market sources to meet facilities goalsCoordinates and maintains up-to-date information on market and competitors including pricing, census information, product information, and sales strategiesMonitors census and payer mix trends. Ensures timely completion of community referral, admissions, and census tracking and trending information. In coordination with the Administrator, analyzes tracking and trending data and develops and implements strategies to meet census and mix goalsIdentifies census challenges and barriers. Assist in developing and implementing strategies to overcome census challenges and barriers. Provides direct sales activity as requiredIdentifies customer and market needs. Develops and implements plans to satisfy identified needsAssists with hiring, training, evaluating performance, and educating sales staff as assignedInforms all referral sources of the admissions and approval processCoordinates and conducts admissions process and customer service training for community and staffAssists community with new business development. Expands and grows referral source and customer base ensuring continual referral growthCommunicates effectively with Administrators, Regional Directors of Operations, VP of Business Development, and Chief Strategy OfficerCompiles information on the local market including referral sources, competitors, and market trendsPrepare, update and follow quarterly marketing plansPrepares and submits weekly schedule, summary of activity, achievements, goals, and related outcomes as requestedEstablishes a rapport with Medical Directors within assigned community and works with them to implement “key physician” marketing and educational programsMaintains daily community census, snapshot report, and other reports as assigned.Circulates information to appropriate parties in the time frame neededCompletes special projects and assignments as required.
