Career Opportunity located in Charleston, SC. Industrial Engineer with a specialization in welding in a manufacturing facility has been created to support plant expansion and ramp up of production lines. Leveraging your expertise in welding processes and equipment, you will play a key role in setting up and optimizing welding operations to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. Qualifications: 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment and Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with a preference for a Master's degree. LOCAL qualified candidates are preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and implement welding processes and procedures for new production lines.
  • Evaluate welding equipment options and make recommendations for purchase or lease.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new welding processes.
  • Optimize welding parameters to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Train production staff on proper welding techniques and safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to welding operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the production team as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow and increase productivity
  • Design and improve manufacturing systems, equipment, and facilities
  • Conduct time studies and establish standard operating procedures
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production issues
  • Creating routings in our ERP-System

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on welding.
  • Understanding of welding processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Understanding of design for fixtures and tooling.
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting the ramp-up of new production facilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with common ERP-Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in industrial engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in welding (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector).
  • Experience with robotic welding systems.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
