Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and other clients Engineers in a dedicated team.
  • Develop detailed design drawings, electronic models, specifications, reports, schedules, and obtain electrical permit approvals.
  • Organise technical and financial proposals for new projects.
  • Oversee the workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians, ensuring quality standards.
  • Handle concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detailed design.
  • Prepare technical specifications.
  • Monitor the financial performance of projects.
  • Keep senior staff updated on significant service/design decisions and client objectives.
  • Mentor junior Electrical Engineers.
  • Ensure practices, policies, strategies, and services align with client interests and current legislation/building codes.
  • Manage personal workload to meet deadlines and balance resource utilization.
  • Address workload concerns proactively.
  • Contribute to delivering profitable projects by monitoring job/project finances and adjusting resources as needed.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience in the building services and construction industry.
  • Preferred experience in sectors like Higher Education, Museums, Commercial, Transportation Hubs, and Stadiums.
  • Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification desirable.
  • LEED AP accreditation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and computational analysis tools (electrical fault analysis, lighting design software).
  • High degree of responsibility in team-based and independent work.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of electrical systems with problem-solving skills.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, including experience presenting to 'c-suite' level stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing technical reports for clients.
  • Ability to propose multiple solutions and objectively summarise their benefits and drawbacks.
