Lead Server

Position Overview: The Lead Server will report to the Restaurant Manager, and is responsible for assisting the guests' needs, responding to their inquiries, and immediately addressing their dining concerns. Ensure the timely and accurate serving of orders, offering promotional menus and other additional services. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills to interact with the guests and team, as well as time-management and multitasking skills to perform duties in a fast-paced environment. The Lead Server is responsible for training and leading a team of servers, bussers, and hosts to ensure the highest quality of service to our guests. The Lead Server is expected to be fully knowledgeable about the menu, daily specials, bar list, and share that knowledge with all new staff members to ensure consistency throughout the guest experience. Job Duties: Effectively manage Pescatore Restaurant and team members within the policies and guidelines of the company, always aiming for guest satisfaction. Provide direction, leadership and mentoring to all FOH staff during all shifts. Ensure that all staff stations, service areas, dining room, outdoor seating, and tables are set for the shift and that the tables are clean. Handle guest complaints with professional and sincere attention. Know and be able to speak eloquently about the hotel, restaurant, food and beverage offerings, wine, beer, and cocktail selections. Train newly hired employees on correct facility procedures, safety codes, proper use of POS system, and menu items. Provide exceptional guest services by communicating additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Engage in high quality customer facing and focused service; cater to clientele with sensitive food allergies and custom dietary needs. Perform day to day supervision of staff, FOH and BOH, assign tasks and direct overall restaurant level operation performances. Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies. Position Requirements: Capability of offering a charismatic and friendly style of service tailored to specific guests and their needs, building a rapport with guests to establish future business. The ability to motivate and inspire others to work cooperatively to achieve a designated goal. The ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data. The ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, managers, and colleagues. The ability to convey technical information through writing to a nontechnical audience so the recipients easily understand the information and can quickly and correctly apply it. Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle the fast-paced environment and effectively manage an assigned station to ensure guest satisfaction. Learn and retain the product knowledge relative to the position on the floor. Knowledge of Food & Beverage and Private Dining operational procedures is beneficial. Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect the department preferred. Possess a proven track record of effectively and empathetically training, mentoring, and managing hourly employees. Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks. Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 30lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Required Qualifications: You possess a proven track record of effectively and empathetically training, mentoring, and managing hourly employees. Holds themselves to high standards and expects the same from their team; leads by example. Two+ years of high-end hotel restaurant Lead Server experience preferred. RBS and ServSafe Food Handler Certification required. All colleagues must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided). Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
