Description

SUMMARY 

Oversees all aspects of operation in Fabrication and paint to achieve KPI’s 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the growth and development of Refab to achieve sales targets, financial goals, and Customer satisfaction through OTD and PPM scores. 

Ensure the safety of all team members by following the STEP up for safety program to achieve overall safety KPI.

 

Work with customer service and scheduling to maintain a customer on time of 95% or higher. Evaluating & identifying capacity needs to meet customer demand without having team members work more than 45-50 hours a week. 


Cost of quality setting goals & targets for the team to achieve company KPI’s. Cost of quality consists of Customer returns, internal scrap, rework, and adjustments. 


VA (Value Add): setting targets to maintain and utilize labor to achieve VA KPI. 


Determines the skill and knowledge requirements of each team member to achieve their personal, professional and financial goals. Create career paths for all team members which is followed through during their yearly review process & monthly one on ones. 


Implementation and follow-through of the RTS 


Leadership mentoring and coaching. Setting a clear career path for each team member so they can achieve training requirements. 


Personal development: get outside of the facility to bring fresh new ideas back, involvement with a user group or organization to share best practices, identify a method of personal coaching that can develop your leadership skills. 

Working with the engineering group to identify Cap Ex investments for the next 3 years. Showing ROI (Return on Investment) and following up on ROI for purchases 


Maintain the 3-year forecast for repairs and maintenance that include facilities costs. Create a monthly budget that can be sustained. 


Instill a lean continuous improvement thinking mindset that drives cost savings within each area. Improve FLOW of product to reduce / maintain WIP and leads times to set goals. 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Care to help each team member to achieve personal, professional and financial goals.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with 5 or more year's experience in manufacturing, preferably metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Leadership training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, safety rules, work rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, communicates, and responds to questions from team members, customers, and suppliers. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must pass the DeWys competency test.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess good problem-solving skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License to be licensed as a qualified lift truck driver at DeWys Manufacturing, Inc.

While performing the duties of this job, the team leader is regularly required to stand; team member is frequently required to communicate with fellow team members and walk throughout the VS. The team member is occasionally required to sit while performing administrative duties. Team member may on occasion be required to climb, balance, and crawl underneath machines when performing necessary repairs or maintenance. The team leader must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The team member is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes and airborne particles when performing grinding operations, and toxic and caustic chemicals when cleaning tools. Team member is also exposed to outside weather conditions when unloading sheet metal supplies. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud requiring hearing protection to be worn at all times. Safety glasses must also be worn at all times by team members.
