Summary

This role is for a collaborative Plant Manager with a background in manufacturing who is a true leader that can drive a strong, positive culture throughout the plant(s) they oversee. This position requires a strong operational and analytical mind to constantly seek out, as well as teach/lead improvements in Safety Performance, Cost Control, Standardized Processes (LEAN), Production Reporting and Inventory Control. A Senior Plant Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and execution of our Safety Program, Employee Development and Cost Performance Goals and Objectives.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for all aspects of Environmental Health & Safety compliance.
  • Solid understanding of production outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency material efficiency, engineering effectiveness and effective personnel utilization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to interact with other business units, employees, and outside vendors while building morale and reinforcing the benefit of teams.
  • Drive YoY Quality performance.
  • Validate effective care and maintenance of the Companies Assets.
  • Proven Leadership Skills within project management, time management, Lean Operations, and decision-making skills.
  • Perform those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the manufacturing operations, including provision for the selection and employee counseling and motivation, meeting organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the plant.
  • Direct and aid in the development of Processes and Procedures that improve the overall operation of the organization.
  • Assist in the development and manage the Capital Expenditure and Operating Expenditure Plan.
  • Participate in developing and executing strategic initiatives within Operations.
  • Define and recommend goals and objectives in each area of the operation.
  • Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget and manpower requirements.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures, cost estimates, manpower and equipment forecasts and annual facility operating budgets.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork; emphasize the importance of internal collaboration to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Develop a high performing team of Sales Professionals through training and growth of team members within the region.
  • Responsible for talent management and employee lifecycle activities, from hiring to terminating.


Position Qualifications


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or Engineering. Masters preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years Operations Management experience; at least 2 years of Plant Management experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing with ability to oversee multiple facilities preferred.
  • Financial Acumen with the ability to analyze and forecast data and translate result to better solutions including general ledger accounting, and activity rate costing, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of safety metrics and programs.
  • ERP system knowledge a plus.
  • LEAN Manufacturing Training or CI Management Experience (Tier I, II, III)

Other Physical Requirements


Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.


While performing essential functions, this role occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat and/or cold, risk of electric shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, etc.).
