Meteorologist

Location: San Ramon, CA (need local candidates only)

PART-TIME LESS THAN 30 HOURS PER WEEK.

Description:

LOOKING FOR LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY IN BAY AREA/SAN RAMON WORK LOCATION.

ASSIGNMENT IS HYBRID AND WILL BE REQUIRED SAN RAMON, CA, 1-3 TIMES A MONTH.

TOP THINGS LOOKING FOR:

1. MUST HAVE a Minimum B.S. Meteorology/Atmospheric Science
2. Any prior utility or emergency management experience a plus
3. Previous fire weather experience a plus

Meteorologist in the Client Operational Weather Office - Weather Forecast duties.

Ability to quickly identify and respond to anomalous weather environments

• Demonstrated experience with weather forecasting and tools
• Proven expertise in meteorology, including California weather and microclimates
• Detailed understanding of relevant weather statistics and prediction indicators
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in high-pressure environments
• Experience in operational planning and execution
• Familiarity with communications systems and computer networking
• Experience authoring technical documentation and training materials
• Working proficiency using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree and typically 5-7 years' related work experience
