Optical Technician

Optical Technician (FT)-This position does not require a license. If you or a family member wears glasses, you appreciate how imperative it is that the prescription is accurate and the fit is perfect. This position is the last stop on our patients’ experience with Mooney EyeCare Centre and success here allows us to secure life-long patients for our practice. Appreciation for efficiency and accuracy reading patient prescriptions, verifying/understanding eyewear benefits, and truly listening to patients are needed. Position requires someone eager to learn about different types of lenses/frames, strong computer skills using multiple internet sites simultaneously while working in medical software (we use Office Mate), strong basic math skills, ability to problem-solve/do minor frame repairs and show compassion and professionalism at all times. Patients truly appreciate us taking the time to help them pick the perfect frame or two! Experience successfully working in a customer-forward setting is helpful. We will happily train you to adapt your skillset to eyecare but you must LOVE working with people!

Mooney EyeCare Centre provides comprehensive eyecare, quality eyewear and vision therapy to the young and young-at-heart. We are privately owned, currently seeing patients in Mt. Washington (Bullitt Co.) and Elk Creek (Spencer Co.). Our team of experienced optometrists, along with their compassionate support team, strive to provide an amazing vision care experience to each patient who chooses our practice. We are hiring full-time positions for front desk lead, clinic technician and optical technician. MECC offers a 4-day work week with a 50 min. lunch break, no late nights or weekends; vision/eyewear benefits; accrued PTO and 401K Match after one year of employment.
