We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end processing of in-house payroll for our organization. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing multi-state payroll operations, including weekly/biweekly payroll cycles, for approximately 8,000 W2 employees, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of US labor laws, familiarity with international payroll processing, and experience with payroll systems such as MSD Dynamics F&O. This is an onsite role in our NYC (HQ) or Bernardsville, NJ office.


The Opportunity

  • Manage end-to-end processing of in-house payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll cycles for 250 internal employees.
  • Oversee multi-state payroll operations, including knowledge of state-specific regulations and tax laws.
  • Process weekly/biweekly payroll for all employees, including international payroll processing for locations such as Ireland, Netherlands, UK, Canada, and Brazil.
  • Understand and adhere to US labor laws, including tax withholding forms, reciprocity agreements, and quarter filings.
  • Handle unemployment claims, garnishments, and other payroll deductions in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to payroll transactions, terminations, and PTO/sick leave payouts.
  • Process ACH payments and manage relationships with banking institutions as needed.
  • Collaborate with tax reporting vendor ADP for accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure the organization's payroll processes remain compliant.
  • Assist with terminations and ensure accurate final pay calculations.
  • Manage PTO and sick leave payouts in accordance with state laws and company policies.
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
  • Possess knowledge of Suta/Futa regulations and ensure compliance in payroll processing.


Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on multi-state payroll operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of US labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Experience with international payroll processing and familiarity with payroll systems such as MSD Dynamics F&O.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and systems, including ADP or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot payroll issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.

Salary range: The target salary for this role ranges from $100,000 per year to $120,000 plus variable incentives. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
