Privacy Counseling Attorney (all offices) We are a boutique internet and technology law firm based in Washington, D.C., with a wealth of high-tech clients ranging from early-stage start-ups to household names in the tech industry. We are seeking an attorney with at least 7 years of data privacy experience to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing practice and work on cutting edge issues for very interesting clients, most of whom provide products or services in the areas of technology, data, entertainment, online services, gaming, and publishing. If you built your practice at a big firm you might work with similar clients but most likely you would spend most of your time helping your clients procure these companies’ services. At ZwillGen, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about these companies from the sell side by partnering with them to help shape some of today’s most innovative new businesses. The position requires a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment. Essential Job Functions The ideal candidate will have skillfully worked with clients in many of the following areas: US privacy compliance, including compliance with state comprehensive privacy laws and FTC guidance and enforcement. Analysis and implementation of US sale, share, and targeted advertising choice obligations; Experience advising on compliance with respect to one or more of the following: processing health data (under laws such as My Health My Data or the FTC’s HBNR), biometric data, SMS, and/or children’s data; Evaluating contracts for data privacy terms Candidates should write and communicate well, be able to think strategically and assess risks, and be comfortable working under tight deadlines that clients sometimes impose. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to independently manage projects, interact with clients, and work effectively as a team member. Location This hybrid position is available in any of our four offices: Washington D.C., New York, San Francisco, and Chicago. Eligible candidates must be barred in the jurisdiction from which they will work. Salary & Application $200,000 – $300,000/annually depending on experience, plus benefits.
