The ideal candidate with be someone who will immerse themselves on the shop floor supporting employees and the front-line supervision in a servant leader role to execute the daily production schedule, making safe, quality food, right first time, in control. 


The ideal leader will be someone who can build relationships with all employees and gain respect by supporting them and making their daily production line execution as safe and effective as possible.  In addition, being someone, the employees can trust to be up front and respectful, also being someone who will hold people accountable for the right behaviors and doing the right things when no one is looking. 


Being available to the 3 production shifts and the leaders who run them is important to ensure they have the support needed for the speed of communications and decision making.  Some variable shift schedule time will be important to cross over with the shifts and ensuring strong continuity of operations. 

Time spent on the shop floor to ensure employee safety is paramount, the food produced is safe, meeting all of our customer and regulatory requirements.  Someone with an eye for detail who can ensure clean and well-organized production areas at all times. 


Our business is planning for future growth and is in pursuit of a strong leader to take ownership of the current state and help ensure a strong foundation is maintained and assist in the growth efforts for the business as future capacity is filled, expanding more production lines across the 3 shifts. 


Responsibilities Include 

  • Oversight of the human safety of the employees under your charge. 
  • Responsible for the Food Safety and Quality execution of the Production Operations team. 
  • Tactical leadership of the shop floor environment, 75-80% of the time supporting 8 direct report Production Supervisors across a 3-shift operation, mostly 5 days per week, with occasional weekend production requirements. 
  • Cost management and direct labor deployment of the Production team to meet the daily/weekly production schedule. 
  • Schedule adherence working with the Production Shift Supervision to map out an executable plan with the Supply Chain and Production teams to meet customer order shipments. 

 

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications  

  • Experience in tactical leadership of a manufacturing shop floor setting. 
  • Prior production operations leadership experience.  
  • Experience in overseeing a multi-shift operation with oversight of direct report hourly shift supervision.  
  • This ideal candidate will have a food safety background and understand how important Food Safety and Food Quality are to our business success, to our customers, and the industry. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering discipline preferred.  Technical acumen a huge benefit to overseeing industrial equipment operations.  5-10+ years of prior experience considered in lieu of formal education discipline. 
  • Experience in a dry blending operation a plus, but not critical.  The right candidate will be able to quickly learn by being tactically engaged daily.
