Production Operations Manager

Barstool Sports is seeking a Production Operations Manager to join our Production Operations team. This position will be based out of Barstool’s Chicago office and will report directly to the Director of Production Operations. In this role, the Production Manager will coordinate day-to-day production needs for both live and tape productions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day Barstool Chicago HQ production schedule, studio/set turnover, and crew schedule to ensure studios are operating at maximum capacity.
  • Maintain production budgets for assigned short and long-term projects.
  • Project manage pre-production, studio set builds, and post-mortems for Barstool tenpole projects.
  • Develop production schedules and call sheets for short and long-term productions as needed.
  • Book ENG crews as needed for Chicago production operations, negotiating terms of contracts in tandem with Barstool Sports legal team.
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with all Barstool Production staff and 3rd Party Vendors.
  • Open channels of communication with key stakeholders across the organization to identify and problem-solve any potential hazards or conflicts.
  • Develop and hone new SOP to improve the overall function of Chicago production.
  • Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the Chicago Production Coordinator.
  • General production operations support as needed.
  • Travel periodically for remote productions.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in production operations and/or video production.
  • Live video production experience preferred. This role entails extensive live video production.
  • Knowledge of Production terminology and applications. (i.e. Video + Audio Production, Set Fabrication, Rigging Grip, Rigging Electric, Prop Management, Hair & Make-Up, Casting, Production Office, Stunts, etc.)
  • Candidate should be highly organized, and always thinking of ways to improve over process and workflow.
  • Candidate should be adaptable and willing to take on a variety of roles to support Barstool Sports Productions.
  • Must be able to think outside the box and work in a nontraditional production environment.
  • Candidate should be able to act decisively in high-pressure situations and understand which issues to prioritize or elevate.
  • Candidate should be willing to respond after hours for timely, urgent production needs.
  • Team player with the ability to supervise multiple productions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of production to better support various stakeholder needs from pre-production to post-production.
  • Strong understanding of EHS local regulations and best practices.

Range: $90,000 - $100,000
