Production Supervisor

Job Description

Shift:

2nd shift - 2 pm to 10/11 pm

Experience:

  • 8 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing plant preferably in a similar industry

Responsibilities

  • Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands
  • Provide work assignments, procure parts, and communicate production demands to employees as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance requests
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Meet and or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Document and complete production reports, scrap tickets, accident reports, and discipline notices while promoting and enforcing company policies, safety rules, and work instructions
  • Compares actual performance with planned performance and takes corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achieved.
  • Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area key indices, identify unfavorable trends, and take corrective action.
  • Meet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, On-time Delivery, Machine downtime, and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running efficiently.
  • Proactively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety results.
  • Complete required systems work: Mapics, Kronos, Zone, etc.

Qualifications

  • Complies with Company policies, work procedures, and safety procedures
  • Serves as a resource to the Plant Manager and others in resolving complex problems and issues.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Provides direction to employees, orients, trains, assigns, and performance management.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Proven leadership skills, ability to train and develop employees
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to converse with employees and upper management,
  • Problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Be dependable and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to use good judgment strong work ethics and integrity on the job
  • Ability to effectively establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers and employees
  • Ability to understand and follow all Company rules, policies, procedures, and requirements, especially for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity/cost.

  • High School diploma or GED
  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
