Tecovas is looking for a Retail Regional Manager to develop and implement a vision and strategy for a group of stores in the East region of the US. Reporting directly to the SVP, Retail, you will be accountable for driving top-line sales from $25M to $50M and maintaining profitability targets while managing expenses and monitoring productivity in all locations in your region. As the Regional Manager, you will consistently coach and support District Manager, Area Managers, Senior Store Managers, Store Managers, and Assistant Store Managers to ensure alignment around the company's strategy and goals, ultimately providing a rewarding employee experience and delivering an exceptional customer experience every day to help steward the next generation of Western!

Tecovas is based out of Austin, TX, and the ideal candidate will live centrally in their Region with access to a major airport with direct flights to store locations.

What you'll do:

  • Inspire and motivate others by living the Tecovas values.
  • Continually work to improve individual and team performance through objectives and key results.
  • Cultivate an environment that is opportunistic, promotes teamwork, takes ownership, and displays a high level of urgency.
  • Participate in new store openings in new and existing markets, championing the brand through strong recruiting, team building and providing a best in class customer experience
  • Oversee succession planning in the Region and establishes and maintains a strong bench of talent.
  • Ensure proper execution of all visual directives and marketing initiatives in all stores.
  • Provide feedback to Tecovas Leadership Team regarding store and customer opportunities.
  • Know market demographics and can speak to competition as a liaison between their region and corporate partners.
  • Encourage locations to participate in local community initiatives to drive brand awareness and create loyalty.
  • Provide strategic direction and uncovers new and unique ways to grow the business.
  • Innovate and develop ways to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluate sales results on a daily basis and develops plans to improve when necessary.
  • Manage Region payroll budgets recommends and approves all pay rates and salary adjustment.
  • Work with business partners to create and provide training and guidance for management regarding store operations, human resources, loss prevention and visual presentation.
  • Partner with real estate to identify specific market opportunities.
  • Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Store Manager including high volume stores.
  • 3+ years of experience as a District Manager is preferred with specialty footwear/fashion brands.
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Proven ability to drive sales results.
  • Proven ability to build winning teams.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret all policies and procedures to resolve customer and employee issues.
  • Flexible with schedule (able to work weekends, nights, peak holiday periods). Able to travel up to 50% of your time in airplanes, cars, and hotels.
  • Proficient in retail math and possesses strong computer skills. Able to work long hours on the computer and in meetings without interruptions.

Tecovas was born out of a love for cowboy boots, their time-honored craftsmanship, rich materials that last, and traditional styling that always looks good. Each pair of Tecovas boots is crafted by hand in over 200 steps. It's not the easiest or cheapest method, but we're committed to classic construction techniques that stand the test of time.
