About The Senior Community Manager


We have an immediate opening for a Senior Community Manager on our strategy team. This role involves actively engaging with users online to foster real-time brand interactions, conducting research to stay ahead of social media trends, and reporting on and devising creative solutions both within and beyond social feeds to enhance our clients' brand presence. This person will also help with pitching new business and mentoring jr. team members.


As the Senior Community Manager you will


The Senior Community Manager is the voice of the brand across channels and is responsible for responding to customer service requests and proactively joining conversations about the brand, its products and its industry. It’s not about selling—it’s about engaging.


They will be looked to for thought leadership and strategies, presenting them skillfully to internal teams or clients. Internally, they will work closely with our in-house creative, social, media and analytics teams to activate campaigns, track performance and support ongoing strategy development alongside senior account members.


  • Daily management and maintenance of major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.
  • Uses social media tools like Sprout, Sprinklr, etc. to responded to comments and start conversations
  • Meets with social and creative teams to brainstorm big ideas and ways to activate and engage followers and fans
  • Maintains a pulse on trends and emerging platforms to develop POVs for clients
  • Supports measurement and insights team with social audience and creative performance analysis from the channels they manage

  • Identifies opportunities for partnerships with brands and personalities or real-time engagement opportunities
  • Contributes to new business pitches by providing insight and on-the-ground recommendations as a community engagement expert
  • Bonus points if they know enough about other marketing elements like CRM, site, loyalty, etc. to be dangerous


About You


  • 4+ years of professional experience in social media (strategy or community management preferred) in an agency environment or in a job that required attention across several projects at once
  • Knowledge of major social media platforms and/or social management tools
  • Strong writing abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to uphold brand standards, including voice, tone, style, etc.
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Experience in a customer service position with an ability to act professionally and courteously
  • Experience working on restaurant and QSR brands is a plus
  • Strong writing, presentation and analytical thinking skills
  • Comfort presenting to and collaborating with clients
  • Curious, open-minded and a team player. Leaves the ego at the door and enjoys fast-paced environments.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with design platforms and/or ability to produce images, GIFs, etc.

Posting Range: 62,800.00 - 86,600.00


The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Material. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
