Sr. Director of Fundraising & Marketing and Communications

Are you called to a meaningful career leading our fundraising efforts for our mission to provide Hope, Homes, and Healing for children and young adults in crisis. 4KIDS is seeking a passionate and experienced Sr. Director of Development & MARCOM who is responsible for increasing charitable giving by individual major and mid-level donors as well as raising awareness in the corporate, church, and business community. As a non profit Christian organization, 4KIDS has been serving children and families across 13 Florida counties for over 27 years.

The Sr. Director of Partner Engagement & MARCOM is an integral part of the overall mission advancement strategy of 4KIDS, working closely with the Communications/Partner Engagement team, Church Engagement team, as well as 4KIDS leadership and program team members. This person is responsible for increasing charitable giving by individual major and mid-level donors as well as raising awareness in the corporate, church and business community. This is a highly visible position where energy, diplomacy, sophistication and an understanding of philanthropy and the 4KIDS' mission, values and program are key factors to success. The person is expected to meet fundraising goals for the organization and passionately represent 4KIDS as a community spokesperson for the mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides spiritual guidance and direction to staff
  • Meet fundraising goals for the organization and passionately represent 4KIDS as a community spokesperson for the mission
  • Advance the Mission and Ministry of 4KIDS by engaging internal and external partners with integrity
  • Approves Marketing and Communications strategy
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of partners and prospects with a focus on securing financial gifts and deepening relationships
  • Approve implementation plans for major and mid-level donor engagement, utilizing audience research, wealth screening information, and existing data on prior behavior of 4KIDS major and mid-level partner
  • Cultivate his or her own portfolio of donors
  • Develop relationships and secure meetings with prospects and partners to inform and/or update them on 4KIDS’s activities, cultivating, building and growing the relationships to secure ongoing or new gifts.
  • Use PowerBI and other data sources to regularly report on donor growth and community appeal
  • Support the strategic leadership, oversight and delivery of prospect management, tracking, research, identification, solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Provides experience and leadership for all current and future campaigns
  • Assist in quarterly strategy sessions with 4KIDS leadership, staff, and Board members
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of; 501(c)3 and Bylaw requirements, IRS and governance agencies guidelines, and current trends related to philanthropy to ensure maximum opportunities presented for gift commitments
  • Lead and attend all major special events for prospect cultivation and donor relationship building
  • Provide leadership in key marketing initiatives and in events planning
  • Participate in the development of communication materials and partner recognition and retention tools and appreciation gifts.
  • Work closely with executive leadership and finance team to develop and manage the development budget, track fundraising goals, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Non Profit Management, Marketing or related degree, Master's Degree preferred
  • At least 5-7 years of major gift/campaign experience (preferably for a non-profit child welfare organization)
  • Proven track record in fundraising, communication and donor cultivation and messaging
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience with leadership and leading groups around a mission
  • Interpersonal and relationship-building skills that allow success in professional, social and networking opportunities
  • Ability to accurately assess donor interests and motivations, and work with them accordingly
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
  • Ability to work as a team player, combined with ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to appropriately handle highly confidential and sensitive information; ability to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion
  • Strong understanding of Philanthropy and donors' motivations for giving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong capacity and experience in Virtuous or similar fundraising database.
