Sr Manufacturing Engineer - New Product Development

Are you an experienced manufacturing engineer ready to make a significant impact on new product development? We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our dynamic team as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. In this pivotal role, you'll be the liaison between the product development team and the Manufacturing teams within a plastics manufacturer in the Arlington area. Our client has a strong brand recognition and track record of 60 years at the top of their industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple functional areas within manufacturing to ensure seamless transitions from new product design to production.
  • Act as a manufacturing liaison in the New Product Development process, emphasizing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Provide technical evaluations and continuous assessments of vendors and suppliers to ensure raw material quality and cost efficiency.
  • Create routings and standard costs for new products.
  • Define and justify new equipment and tooling purchases, especially for new or improved products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years in a manufacturing environment, with plastics experience highly desirable.
  • Proven project management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing setting; familiarity with Stage Gate Methodology is a plus.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA and "Should-Costing."
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality systems (DFMEA/PFMEA/APQP) and supplier quality management.
