Supply Chain Director

Role Purpose:

As the Supply Chain Director, you will lead and strategize the following supply chain functions: purchasing, warehousing, transportation, and customs. Your role will focus on optimizing processes, implementing digital tools, and driving cost efficiencies while maintaining compliance with safety and sustainability standards.

Place of work: Poland, Estonia, Serbia, Lithuania or Germany

Your Objectives:

• Optimize inventory and logistics processes to minimize costs and enhance delivery efficiency.
• Develop a robust risk management strategy to mitigate supply chain disruptions
• Develop monitoring systems and automated reports to track performance through key KPIs.
• Drive digitalization and automation across supply chain operations: purchasing, warehousing, transportation, and customs.
• Oversee day-to-day logistics, inventory, and team management while making strategic decisions that align with organizational goals.

Your main accountabilities:

• Supply Chain Intelligence:
• Embrace & implement digital technologies to streamline supply chain processes.
• Develop dashboards as well as monitoring systems & automated reports to track performance through key KPIs and anticipate demand variations & adjust to serve in lean ways
• Assess & manage risks in the supply chain to prevent disruptions; establish contingency plans.
• Purchasing:
• Establish (new) KPIs & develop appropriate objectives / performance expectations of direct reports to ensure achievement of business goals, particularly in areas of processes improvement, automation, simplification & digitalization.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures
• Monitor and ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods (forwarding-transportation)
• Manage inventory levels
• Warehousing:
• Optimize inventory management
• Implement best practices for warehouse operations, including efficient layout and stock rotation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in warehousing activities.
• Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and system updates.
• Develop strategies for space utilization to maximize storage efficiency.
• Transportation & Logistics:
• Accountable for the region’s supply chain inbound and outbound logistics.
• Manage transportation providers
• Develop strategies for logistics optimization, including route planning and load consolidation.
• Oversee customs compliance and documentation to avoid delays at borders.
• Ensure logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, and damage rates.
• Collaborate with production and sales teams to align logistics with demand forecasts.
• Customs & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and trade agreements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to streamline the clearance process.
• Lead on changes in trade policies and adjust strategies as needed for cost-effectiveness, speed, and compliance.

Your profile:

• Minimum 10 years in senior management within an international supply chain context (purchasing, warehousing, transportation, and customs) preferably in the automotive or wiring systems industry.
• Strong ERP system knowledge (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Proven ability to lead and develop diverse teams.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English (plus additional language: German, Polish, Lithuanian, Serbian or Estonian).
