Vice President of Quality (remote)

***REMOTE Position Supporting Multiple Sites in North America***

The Vice President of Quality will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall quality standards and compliance within our Client's organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain the highest level of product and service excellence. The VP of Quality will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and mitigate risks associated with quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive quality assurance strategy aligned with the company's objectives. Provide leadership and guidance to the quality assurance team.

Quality Management Systems: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancement across all functional areas. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality standards and reduce defects.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and certifications. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and update quality processes accordingly.

Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to establish and maintain strong supplier quality management processes. Ensure suppliers meet quality standards and specifications.

Customer Satisfaction: Drive initiatives to monitor and improve customer satisfaction levels. Implement feedback mechanisms and take corrective actions to address customer concerns related to product quality.

Quality Metrics and Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality assurance and develop systems for tracking and reporting on quality metrics. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Training and Development: Develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees related to quality assurance processes and procedures. Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Risk Management: Identify potential quality-related risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Proactively address quality issues to prevent product recalls or service disruptions.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including R&D, manufacturing, engineering, and customer support, to ensure alignment on quality objectives and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Quality Management, etc.). Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ, Lean, etc.) preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior leadership role in quality assurance or quality management, preferably in the Automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience in developing and implementing quality management systems and process improvement initiatives.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and achieving measurable results in quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously across numerous manufacturing sites.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing quality-related issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control, etc.).
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulations applicable to the industry (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization.
