Position Overview:


The Visual Manager position reports to our Director of Visual Merchandising and Store Planning and plays a pivotal role in how our customer experience MCM.This position ensures that the MCM brand is fully represented in all our points of distribution by adapting global strategies to the US/Canadian markets.


Key Responsibilities:


Visual Directives: Adapt HQ Global VM guidelines by partnering with Director of VM and Store Planning to create and develop tailored guidelines for NCSA. Conceptualize new and innovative ideas for each store while always maintaining the MCM vision. Create and distribute monthly floorplans for all stores showing zone plan by category/line and overall placement of loose fixtures. Provide feedback to stores in a timely manner. Gather final photos of each store to share with VM Director and regional teams.



Window / Lightbox / Video / Signage: Collaborate with cross functional partners on seasonal window décor concept, ad campaign lightbox images, in-store signage, in-store video to ensure all elements are launched in each store at the same time for global consistency. Have vendor relationships for bidding and understand material costs. Work closely with local vendors on creating seasonal window renderings/lightbox crops for each store. Schedule site visits to factory to check on production to ensure highest quality of props. Set window installations at key doors and communicate directives to Visual Ambassadors/Store Managers to supervise non-local installations.

Training/Travel: Train and develop talent amongst our Store Managers, Visual Ambassadors and Wholesale Account Executives in East and West Coast locations. Weekly touch base with Visual Merchandising Director to determine in-store visual schedule, review photos, and week actions based on daily sales reports and feedback from regional merchandising team and store managers. Travel to retail, outlet, wholesale, and travel retail to drive a consistent visual brand among stores. Utilize store visit reports to provide feedback to HQ and US heads of departments on overall store visual presentation and maintenance.Collaborate with Store Planning/VM Director and Operations Department, providing feedback on the interior condition of stores, windows, display fixtures and tools. Listen and collaborate with store managers and retail teams when visiting markets, taking into consideration local nuances to inform decisions.

Sales: Work closely with Retail Merchandising by analyzing business results and provide creative merchandising solutions using brand appropriate visual strategies to drive sales. Keep track of daily sales reports and identify each month successes/high points, missed opportunities and plan for next steps.

Wholesale/Showroom: Partner with Wholesale team to better understand each account needs and identify areas of improvement. Ensure key wholesale accounts are visited regularly and provide monthly guidelines. Adapt/modify HQ selling campaign concept for US showroom for all seasonal markets.

New Store Openings/Pop Ups: Partner with HQ, Store Planning, Operations, Logistics and IT on all store openings. Place all prop and mannequin orders according to each store’s square footage/fixtures. Review opening buy with Retail Merchandising to ensure proper product assortment and SKU’s according to fixtures.

Fixtures/Props: Partner with ops on repairs/fixture replacement while managing current inventory of fixtures and props in multiple locations. Manage VM props inventory and replenishment for all doors.

Events: Support Marketing team for all in-store and off-site events (retail and wholesale). Source elements such as fixtures, lighting, props and accessories.

Finance: Manage annual budgets to ensure compliance and effective use of capital (i.e. T&E, props, temp support, décor).

Market Research: Research best practices within competitors and stay abreast of innovations and developments in visual merchandising.Share research with Global partners to brainstorm new creative visual ideas and, understand cultural impact and change (adapting to trends).


Experience & Key Competencies:


Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum 5 years Visual Merchandising experience.

Knowledge in Store Planning preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Ability to travel 2 to 5 days per week.

People Management.

Training and Development.

Vendor Sourcing and Bidding.

Fashion/Retail Trend Analysis.

Budgeting and Forecasting.
