- The reality is that Agile delivers working software every sprint. It's not like a planned unveiling. It doesn't come together in the end. In every sprint, the product is built up bit by bit, getting better and better. New features are rolled in, and the product owner finds improvements. Still, the way an Agile team works is often inconsistent with what an organization demands. There'll be trade shows and accounting pressures. There'll be plenty of reasons to have a scheduled release date. The difference between how an Agile team delivers and what an organization demands creates an expectations gap. There are a few ways that you can fill this gap. There's the product backlog, the release backlog, and the sprint backlogs.
