Getting to know the Canva app interface

- [Instructor] You can create and manage Canva designs with the web app, the installed Windows or Mac app, or from a mobile app, and it's available for both Android and Apple devices. Here I have the Canva web app and the Windows Canva app stacked one above the other. The web app at the top here, and then the Windows installed app at the bottom here. I'm showing you both of these so that you can see that the interface is very much the same if you're working in one app or the other. For this course, we'll mostly be working in the web app, so let's go ahead and expand this app and I'll show you around. When you log in with your account, notice the account I'm logged in with in the upper right corner here. It's going to take you to the homepage. Over here in the sidebar navigation, notice how home is highlighted. This homepage is a great place to get you started with creating your designs, so, of course, you could click create a design from here or over here to the right, you can browse several different categories of the types of designs that you may want to create and peruse some of those templates that are available to help get you started. Just above this at the top of the window is a place for you to search for your content or to search for some of those Canva templates. And on over here to the sidebar, once again, we can take a look at the projects that you're designing, the templates that you are working with, and even the branding, the brand kits that you may design. In addition to this, there are several apps that work really well with Canva, and these are apps that are for specific job roles or types of design work, and you can access those here by selecting apps. You may notice that some things are not available with your account, or they may have a price associated. This depends on the type of Canvas subscription that you have. For this course, I'll be working with a Pro account. In the tools area of the sidebar next to brand, notice that there is a little icon here that looks like a crown. This indicates that this feature is available to Pro subscription accounts. If you want to download that desktop version of the Canva app that I was mentioning and showing you earlier, you want to go to the upper right corner and select your account and then scroll through the dropdown menu, and just right here, these are different teams that I'm a part of, but if I scroll on down here through this menu, this is how we'll access the Canva apps. So we'll select get the Canva apps, and then you can choose to download Canva for Windows if you're working with a Windows operating system. You can also install this for a Mac operating system, or if you're working with a mobile device, you have iOS and Android available right here. Let's go ahead and go back to the main Canva area. In addition to designing with the web app in this course, we'll also get creative with the Apple iOS Canva app on an iPad.
