Before you start

- In this course I reference change management terminology and tools. If you're new to change management. I recommend you take the change management foundations course first, and then come back to this. So that we're aligned, let's talk about organizational change for a moment. Organizational change comes in many different forms. Change could be the result of a merger. It could be due to system changes or due to compliance reviews and changing legislation. Or perhaps your organization has an increased focus on customer satisfaction, resulting in changing the way you engage with clients. Whatever the scenario you may be facing, change is part of the new normal in the business landscape, occurring in literally every corner of an organization. Organizational change management helps people through the transitions. It is helpful to understand change management terminology before immersing yourself in this course. You will hear terms such as case for change, stakeholder analysis, business impact analysis, and communications plan. You should be familiar with these and understand how they fit in the change management landscape. There are many change management approaches and frameworks. This course focuses on change management planning, without referencing specific methodology. You will be able to apply the steps I outline and craft a change plan with the framework of your choice. So, let's start planning your change initiative.
