What is the GPT Store?

- The GPT Store was announced in November 2023 and went live on January 10th, 2024. Here are the key points from the initial release. First initial rollout is for ChatGPT Plus, Team and Enterprise users. Second, anyone can create a GPT on the store as long as they verify their name and a website. Third, all GPTs will be reviewed by humans and automation. Fourth, there's a reporting feature for GPTs that are not behaving nicely, or are breaking the rules in some way or are simply inappropriate. Fifth, there will be a revenue sharing feature, although for now it'll be limited to you builders only. And finally, sixth, new ChatGPT Team plans give Team s a secure section on the GPT Store for sharing GPTs internally in the Team s. This also extends to Enterprise accounts. OpenAI also says they don't train on chats from Team accounts or from Enterprise accounts. So if that's a concern to you, a Team account or Enterprise account might be the right way to go. As I record this on January 11th, 2024, one day after the opening of the GPT Store, the functionality of the store itself is fairly basic. You can get to it by clicking on the Explore GPTs option in the ChatGPT sidebar, or going to chat.openai.com/gpts. From here, you get a search box, some category filters, and a visual display of featured GPT under each category. As of this recording, there are no meaningful stats displayed publicly on the store or privately for the GPT Creator. I expect this will change as the store and ecosystem evolves. So by the time you watch this course, the interface and the information available might well have changed. Finally, in the top right corner, there are two buttons. One, giving you access to your own GPTs and one allowing you to create new GPTs. That's a full breakdown of the store as it stands today, January 11th, 2024.
