From the course: Communication Foundations
Tool kit: Meetings
- It's time for a quick self-evaluation of your communication in meetings. Which of these actions are you consistent about doing? For example, do you show up early and make small talk as people arrive? Do you notice who has not spoken at meetings and invite their ideas? Using this chart, note your strengths and keep doing those things. Next, identify one new behavior that would help you build your visibility and your brand during meetings, and one that would improve inclusiveness and effectiveness of your meetings. Good, you've selected two new actions to take at your meetings. Go into your calendar and find your next five scheduled meetings. Add a note right on those calendar appointments, reminding you of your two new meeting behaviors. Follow through and watch your meeting effectiveness skyrocket.
