- [Instructor] Discovering vulnerabilities in a system is like finding a crack in the foundation of a house. It's a concern that definitely needs addressing. Let's dive deep into what happens after we spot these digital cracks and how we mend them. After we spotted vulnerabilities, the next step is to respond and do something about them. Ideally, we can find a way to remediate the vulnerability, reducing the risk that it poses to the organization. Many vulnerabilities can be corrected by patching the affected system. Vendors often supply security updates that correct vulnerabilities, and just patching a system can resolve many vulnerabilities quickly. In cases where there is no patch available or some business reason prevents you from applying the patch, you might consider network segmentation as an alternative approach. Placing the affected systems on an isolated network limits the number of devices that can reach them, reducing the exposure of the vulnerability. That type of…
