- [Instructor] So you may be wondering why there are two very similar but not quite identical versions of this course in the library. Well, we're in a transitional time in the Google Analytics world. We have a brand new version called Google Analytics 4 or GA4 for short, but we still have the older version of GA that's been out for a while not called GA3, but rather Universal Analytics. So if we're taking the time to learn with a new course shouldn't we just focus on the new one? Well, that depends. There are millions of installations of Universal Analytics out there and some of you may be trying to learn how to use your existing installed version. So we have a course that covers those millions of installations. But because Google has said that as of July 1st, 2023, they will no longer process data sent from Universal Analytics, you need to be thinking about this course because the time to think about on that and plan for that switch is now. And in fact, we're going to talk a little bit about how you can take advantage of both versions in the next chapter, but for now, I just wanted to clear up why both versions exist and make sure you know that this course is all about the new Google Analytics 4.
