Laying the foundation

- Once you have a general plan for your documentary it's time to start figuring out which clips are going to form the foundation for your interviews. This is going to take a lot of watching and listening and above all a lot of patience. It's also going to take some trial and error adding and moving and removing material until you form the narrative spine of the film and just a reminder we're going to sort of be flying through the editing process a bit here. If you need to slow down and get acquainted with all things editing in Premiere Pro or whatever other editing software you want to use please take a look at the applicable Essential training courses. So for the interest of time we are not going to be able to spend all of the time that it actually takes to find the sound bytes that we want to use but to condense the process a bit I've done a few things.
