- [Instructor] Looker Studio does more than just display the dimensions and metrics that are in the data source that you connect it to. You also have the ability to create your own. Custom fields can be created based on math expressions or operations and functions using the existing fields that are already within the data source. They can be used for cleaning the data, reformatting, and possibly discovering new information. In this video, I'll add two new fields using a calculation and a simple function. The navigation to edit data sources is located under Resources in this top menu. If you don't see a pen icon or it's grayed out and not clickable, that means that higher permissions are needed. Only editors and owners of the source can create fields. You can also edit a data source directly from the Setup tab in the Properties panel. All the data sources, dimensions, and metrics are in the panel at the bottom of the page.…
