Creating a custom basic wall type
- In this video, I'm going to show you how to create your own custom basic wall type. Now, basic walls are your most common wall but you might want to create custom types for any variety of reasons. So the example I'm going to show here is this wall between the two toilet rooms and it might need my tab key to get it, there it is right there. That wall is a little bit narrow right now to accommodate the plumbing. So I want to create a new basic wall that's a little bit thicker, that has that cavity space in it. So, what you always want to do when starting to create your own basic wall is to start with one that's similar to what you want to create. So notice over here that I've got an interior partition type and if we click the edit type button and then go here to edit structure, you can see that it's got a layer of drywall, another layer of drywall and a metal stud in the middle.
