How to build a world-class sales learning function
- So, you decided to take the big leap, and build a world-class sales learning function. What're ya gonna do now? Well, there are four phases of development on the path from good to great. The first stage is something that we call ad hoc training. And it really is what most businesses are doing out there right now. This is training that can be delivered in person, or via e-learning technology, like this video. The key thing here is to be able to measure. You need to be able to assess the skills of each participant, perform the training, and then assess again, to see if changes actually occurred. Make sure that you have a simple way to measure if your reps have retained the knowledge that they've learned as well. Stage two is continuous learning. At this level, you need to establish an overarching curriculum that your entire organization will continuously go through.
