- The next lessons will teach you the core stories you need for every step in your customer's buying journey. Let's start at the top of the funnel, where most prospects don't know they need you. Even harder, they might not even know they have a problem. So whether it's social media, an ad, a networking event or a trade show, you need to engage people where they are and grab their attention. It's a lot like when I'm at a party with my wife. She'll wave me over and say, "Can you explain what this person does?" She's really asking, "Save my friends and I. This person has both confused and possibly bored us." Look, she's a doctor with a specialty in the ICU. She needs people to get to the point fast. It's life or death in her world. So I can usually sum up what the person does in about 30 seconds. Remember, this was taking them five minutes to explain. And I'm not being sneaky. I'm just using one of my favorite formulas. Let's…
