Future proofing

- In our business technology changes all the time so we're always thinking about future-proofing. And when you're shooting you're thinking about 4K, 5K, 8K, who knows how many K. And editing, different platforms, different software. But as a writer what we're really thinking about in terms of future-proofing is actually how we're handling our documents, how we're handling the content of those documents so that it'll make it the easiest for people who might be dealing with this material way down the line. So here is a few ways you can future-proof your scripts. First of all if you're using interviews of course have interview transcripts and make sure that copies of those transcripts get converted into PDFs and get carried along the way in the edit process, preferably in the documents folder along with your final scripts.
