- Let's talk about your scripting workflow. Probably the first thing you're going to want to do is write some kind of outline. Now, I don't honestly do an outline for every project. Sometimes I'm using index cards to move around ideas. Sometimes I'm jotting things down in meetings and spreading out lots of notes on my desk before I actually go onto the treatment, but if you're really just starting out, it's useful to start with an outline. As you get better at it, you might move right directly to writing a treatment. So, let's talk about what's inside your script outline. It can be a very simple document. It should definitely be only one page. You might want to list the key characters that are involved in your storyline. Maybe some of the key points that are going to be covered. You want to remember that narrative arch. So, exactly how are you going to draw your viewer in? What is going to be the sort of peak of the story?
