- [Instructor] I've just successfully completed a backup of the system state, and I've also told the server once it restarts to restart in active directory recovery mode. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to click close I'm going to restart the server and then do a restoration of active directory as well as the system state which active directory is a part of when the server restarts And I'm now logged in and you can see safe mode is in all four corners just as if it was the normal type of safe mode. But in actuality this is going to be the active directory repair mode. And what this does is it allows us to restore active directory over the existing active directory database. Otherwise, you'd never be able to perform this because the database would be running. I'm going to go into Server Manager, go to Tools and then go into Windows Server Backup.
