The primal brain

- So your brain evolved in evolutionary stages, and the most primal layer of your brain is something that we call your Primal Stone Age Brain, or what we call your survival brain, to be very distinct. Your survival brain is, again, as the term says, is focusing on survival. And so there is a portion of your brain, or it's a segment of your brain that many people have heard, it's called the amygdala. The function of the amygdala is to govern and to regulate your brain's stress response system. Now, I have some bad news. You cannot eliminate stress from your life, but you can learn to control it. Now, why would that be the case? Well, trying to eliminate your brain stress response system would be trying to eliminate your body's respiratory system or your body's circulatory system.
