Red-flag language in job ads is rising
Modern workers are skeptical of what was once endearing job posting language. Mentions of "family" or "fast-paced environment" conjure thoughts of extra hours with colleagues and burnout. These wince-inducing terms are being tabbed "red-flag language" and are rising. The share of red-flag language has increased by 5% since 2018, a report from Revelio Labs shows. Employers creating posts filled with uh-oh language risk turning off applicants, then enduring an extended period to fill a slot. The flip side? Sugar-coated postings could produce bad candidate-position matches.

This was always a cringeworthy term in my view. I've worked in wonderful environments where real connections did grow between people/staff. But using "family" to describe what is a commercial transaction doesn't strike me (and many it seems) as honest.
