Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in the hustle culture treadmill, despite hearing all the buzz about work-life balance, shorter work week, flex schedules and "soft life" living? It’s a journey many of us have embarked on, myself included. There was a time when I wore my workaholic badge of honor proudly, thinking it made me productive, reliable and indispensable. Can you relate? Even during the pandemic, I was the go to multitasker and problem solver for everyone. Truth is, a part of me felt like this was a superpower. But it took a health scare to snap me out of that mindset. As Maya Angelou wisely said, “When you know better, do better.” And for me, it’s not just about doing better, it’s about Be(ing) Intentionally better. I don't have to stay stuck on that hustle treadmill. I eventually got off and learned some helpful tools to get me grounded. Let’s talk self-care. Here are 3 WOW tips that I practice and can help you reset, prioritize yourself, and let go of the stressful busyness: 1. Reset your daily self-talk: Have you ever paid attention to the dialogue running through your mind when no one else is listening? It’s a game-changer. Shift that inner talk to one of kindness, grace and compassion. It shapes how you show up in the world. 2. Make well-being a priority: You are Worthy of Well-being. If it’s important, schedule it. Set alarms for short 10 minute breaks, dedicate chunks of time to yourself, and quiet your mind. It’s not selfish; it’s necessary for your vitality. 3. Journaling: A simple yet powerful practice. Clear your mind, release stress, and cultivate gratitude. Start and end your day with ease and intentionality. Bonus Tip: Take a “Just Because” vacation/staycation. You don’t need a special occasion to prioritize rest and relaxation. Research shows the health benefits are real. Stay tuned for more insights on this 🛫 Which of these self-care tips resonates with you? Will you try one today or are you already incorporating them into your routine? Let’s support each other on this journey to Be (ing) intentionally better and well with less stress. Share your thoughts in the comments ⤵

What does healthy working look like? It's taken me a long time to really wind down from my old lifestyle and habits. I used to be in a busy job, it was fast paced. No long term projects to work on as the logistics industry involves juggling multiple jobs and situations at once, fighting a lot of fires and just generally living at in extreme pace of life. It's not for the faint hearted. Having had time to reflect on that time, what I learnt from it, how much I did or didn't enjoy it, I've come to realise one key thing: I felt like I wasn't being valuable unless I was 'doing things' all the time. 😬 My cortisol levels were through the roof. My eating habits were atrocious. My social life was non-existent (as I also built a side hustle alongside my regular job). I was constantly doing, my mind never switching off. I felt productive as hell, but it came at a huge cost. My health. My wellbeing. My self-worth. I noticed when I transitioned into a new work adventure at the beginning of this year that I felt like I was being paid for not doing much (ie. I didn't feel maxxed out so surely I wasn't doing enough?). It's taken me a few months to realise, I'm working just as hard and passionately as I always have, it's just at a very different pace and level than I grew accustomed to (which is at burn out level). I was valuing my commitment through being busy and stressed - how damaging is that! I think a lot of us get caught in the 'busy' trap. Realising taking time out is actually just as effective as time in is super important. Our brains and bodies cannot run on empty. So thank you Suzanne Penny 🦋 and Rachel Savage for showing me my worth doesn't need to come at a cost to me. I love supporting both of your visions whilst creating my own too. I am so grateful to be growing a truly wonderful bubble of soulpreneurs around me to help others and create magic ✨

When was the last time you audited Your happiness level Your self satisfaction level Your downtime vs social levels Your physical and mental health levels In business, we audit everything: production, profit, turnover But if we aren't auditing our personal enjoyment and health levels how can we truly be productive in life, let alone in the workforce? This week was hella intense at work (especially right after coming back from vacation) but somehow I managed to audit the hours I worked and left before going over 40 hours It felt great and I rewarded myself with a trip to the beach Life tends to throw us messages all day long to work harder, find a better paying job, to get a job, to climb the ladder But that job hustle is no joke...it can not only be exhausting...it may mentally bankrupt your happiness level Join Damian Kinsey and I on Tuesday, July 16th for our monthly Finding Your Purpose #audioevent at 7pm est where we talk about the highs and lows of job seeking with the ultimate goal of finding more ways to be supported during the process Even with all the day pressures this week, I was able to get multiple walks in at night and and refocused on my meal planning to make healthier choices as when I audited where I am physically, I know I have work to do How about you...what is an area of your life you will audit to make yourself happier or healthier? #reentry #restorativejustice #travel #mentalwellness #findingyourpurpose
