The SmartSensor Advance provides dynamic dilemma zone detection for vehicles approaching the stop bar based on two categories. These being "vehicles" and "high priority vehicles." How does the sensor differentiate the two? The sensor looks back 900 feet. Any vehicle that is detected from 600-900 feet implies that it's a bigger vehicle, truck or semi. Lane-changing can always be challenging on highways, sometimes even frightening when large trucks start signaling to change lanes. Lane changes cause an estimated 12% of motorway accidents. 🛣️ Highway Assist with automated ADAS functions can be the game changer in reducing the number of highway accidents involving commercial vehicles. 🚚 ZF harnesses the latest ADAS, braking and steering platforms, OnGuardMAX, mBSP XBS, and ReAX, together with an additional in-cab camera that continuously monitors the driver's attention to support the automatic lane-changing maneuver. If the system detects that the driver is paying attention and the next lane is not occupied, the system automatically initiates the lane-change maneuver as soon as the driver activates the indicator. If one or both of these conditions are not met, the system issues a warning to prevent the maneuver. 🚨 The system has been shown at this year’s #GlobalTechnologyDay at ZF.
