A few notes on the dump truck! When a dump truck crosses a waterlogged section, it is necessary to drive for a distance with a low speed gear and gently step on the brake to eliminate the water in the brake drum. The dump truck driving in the muddy section, one is to drive steadily and slowly, the second is to choose the appropriate gear, do not use emergency braking and rapid acceleration. When the dump truck passes through the uneven road section, it should choose a lower gear if the vehicle allows it, and it should also drive at a uniform speed. When the dump truck stops, the hydraulic system of the dump truck should first be released, and then the goods will fall down, and finally the dump truck will be turned off. The dump truck should be cleaned in time after use, with warm water, not cold water, and can not start the engine during the cleaning process. Before the dump truck is driven, the tire nut should be tightened and the tire pressure should be checked. In the process of driving, the dump truck should often check the oil amount of hydraulic oil, electrolyte, brake fluid and tire pressure and temperature. Before long-term storage, the dump truck should be comprehensively checked and maintained, and all bolts should be firm again to prevent accidents. Do you have any comments? Welcome to comment.

The Hidden Danger of Under-Inflated Truck Tires: Tread Separation 🚨 Did you know that under-inflated truck tires are one of the leading causes of tread separation? It’s not just about fuel efficiency; it’s about safety on the road. When tires are under-inflated, they generate excessive heat due to increased rolling resistance and uneven weight distribution. This heat weakens the bond between the tread and the tire, leading to potential tread detachment. The consequences? • Loss of vehicle control • Costly vehicle damage • Downtime and safety violations How Can We Prevent This? ✔️ Regularly check and maintain tire pressure using calibrated gauges. ✔️ Inspect tires for wear, cracks, and other signs of stress by using our #ProCheck tire management system. ✔️ Avoid overloading to reduce strain on the tires. In the trucking industry, safety is a collective responsibility. Let’s prioritize proper tire maintenance to protect drivers, cargo, and everyone on the road. #TireSafety #Trucking #FleetManagement #RoadSafety #Logistics #PrometeonTyreGroup

Did you know underinflated tires build up excessive heat that can result in tire destruction and/or improper vehicle handling. According to the American Trucking Associations, a constant 20% underinflation will reduce tire life by 30%. Prevent excess wear and catch maintenance risks before they happen with Link’s Cat’s Eye Tire Pressure Monitoring system, equalizing your dual tire pressure to minimize your chance of a blowout. So what happened if a truck tire blowout? This is one question I have received most this year and below is my answer: In most cases, the truck will continue to move if the axle is using double tires( 315/65r22.5) but the force if the exploding tire will throw off the balance of an unwieldy trailer and cause an accident as the trailer can even jackknife or tips. They're are other ways an accident can be caused by a blow off tire such as: 1. Sudden jarring motion from blowout can cause trailer doors to open and spill cargo on the road later causing accidents. 2. Blowout tire can cause other drivers into panic gears. Tire management systems must be put in place by all fleet companies to avoid such accidents also train drivers about tire management as they're truck managers. By so doing, every stop they make, they can be checking some tires and indicating the finding on the tire sheets. I hope will help one or two people out there. Happy Holidays

Dump trucks are essential for heavy-duty jobs, but they can face several common issues that, if not addressed, can lead to costly downtime. Understanding these problems and their solutions is key to maintaining efficiency and safety. Hydraulic System Failures: Hydraulic issues often arise from leaks or worn-out components. Regularly inspect hoses and seals for leaks and replace them promptly. Keeping hydraulic fluid at the recommended level and changing it as needed can prevent many problems. Tire Wear and Damage: Uneven or excessive tire wear is common due to the heavy loads dump trucks carry. Regularly check tire pressure, alignment, and tread depth. Rotate tires as per the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure even wear and extend their lifespan. Engine Problems: Engines in dump trucks can suffer from overheating or fuel system issues. Regularly change oil and filters, and ensure the cooling system is functioning correctly. Scheduled maintenance checks are crucial to catch and fix minor problems before they become major repairs. Brake Issues: Due to frequent heavy loads, dump truck brakes can wear out quickly. Regularly inspect brake pads, discs, and fluid levels. Replacing worn-out brake components promptly ensures safe operation. Routine maintenance and proactive inspections can significantly reduce the occurrence of these issues, keeping your dump truck fleet in optimal condition and minimizing downtime. Damaging equipment isn't the cost of doing business. It's abuse. Reefer trailers are going for $125,000. Highway tractors are going for $250,000. If your drivers abuse equipment, it's complied consent. And that's why we look for 1% improvements in our equipment care. 🛞 TIREMAAX on our trailers to auto-fill tires. 8 PSI variance in inflation can: Reduce tire life by 15,000 km & Increase fuel consumption by 4%. 💥 Difference between a bang and a click when hooking to a trailer You bang into a trailer time and time again And you'll be looking at a $10,000 fix for the dolly legs. 🛑 Idle-free when you're parked and it makes sense The cost of idling is more expensive for maintenance than fuel. Prolonged idling reduces the life of the engine oil by 75%. 🗺️ Truck speccing for each terrain We have dedicated trucks for Western Canada And dedicated Trucks for Texas, for example. A Volvo with a 2.8 rear ratio performs better in TX than in BC. Can it still run in BC? Yes, but it's slightly better in TX. 🌡️ Grill cover Grill cover in warmer months can protect bugs from getting through the grill. In winter months, it can keep your engine at an optimized temperature. None of these sound like a lot. BUT... They make a difference when combined. #dailygrowth #logisticsmanagement

****Balance The Cargo**** Why is this important? 1. Any shift of cargo can cause the trailer to sway and tip over. 2. Many rollover truck accidents and jackknife accidents can be traced back to an unbalanced cargo load. 3. Overloaded on one side of a trailer exert more pressure on the tires, causing them to wear unevenly and deteriorate prematurely. Furthermore, tires operating under excess weight are prone to overheating, leading to blowouts. 4. Too little or too much weight on the steering axle or drive axle can impact safe turning or traction.

As a dump truck operator, here’s how you can contribute to reducing tire wear and maintenance costs: 1. Monitor Tire Pressure Regularly: Checking and maintaining the correct tire pressure is essential. Overinflated or underinflated tires wear out faster and are more likely to fail, so keeping them at the recommended levels extends tire life. 2. Avoid Overloading: Sticking to the designated payload capacity prevents excess stress on the tires. Overloading puts strain on them and leads to faster wear and potential safety hazards. 3. Drive Smoothly: Abrupt stops, sharp turns, and aggressive driving all contribute to faster tire wear. Driving with controlled speed and avoiding unnecessary sharp maneuvers reduces the impact on tires. 4. Watch for Debris and Hazards: Keeping an eye on the haul road for sharp rocks, debris, or potholes helps avoid punctures and excessive wear. Clear the area if possible, or take a slightly different path to avoid hazards. 5. Perform Regular Checks: Small issues, like cuts or minor wear, can quickly become major problems. A simple walk-around inspection each shift helps identify early signs of tire damage before they become costly. 6. Use Appropriate Tire Selection for Conditions: If you have the option to suggest tire types, use ones suited to the ground conditions, especially for rough or rocky areas, which require heavy-duty tires that are puncture-resistant. #MiningOperations #HeavyEquipment #TireMaintenance #PreventiveMaintenance #OperatorSafety #TireCare #MiningSafety #EquipmentEfficiency #DumpTruckOperator #CostSavings #MiningIndustry #HaulTruckSafety
